Dig narrow and deep to get successful in freelance business

Hey guys, I am trying to share this quick post as I am feeling it right now while sending proposals to new prospects. We must consider sharing our skills with many people rather than sharing many skills with one or limited clients as this only makes our jack of all and master of none.

This is an awesome mantra for freelance success i.e. to get narrow and dig deeper into any business niche to develop expertise in it. It is a wiser move to restrict yourself to certain boundaries and not go beyond them but rather dig deeper and increase your expertise in all parts of it. The market only values experts more than mediocrity.

I remember one of the former monks Dandapani also use to say this thing in his vlogs. Digging deeper is like treating yourself like a brand, than just a normal helper that could be replaced easily by another one.

As a freelance web developer, you have the opportunity to build a successful business by offering your unique skills and expertise to clients. However, with so many freelancers in the market, it can be challenging to stand out and attract new business. One way to set yourself apart and achieve success is to focus on a specific niche and become an expert in that area.

The strategy of “digging narrow and deep” means focusing on a specific, narrow area of expertise and becoming an expert in that area. By doing so, you can differentiate yourself from other freelancers and offer unique value to your clients. For example, instead of offering generic web development services, you might choose to specialize in developing e-commerce websites, or in using a specific technology like React.

Here are some benefits of focusing on a specific niche:

  1. Increased visibility: By focusing on a specific area of expertise, you can establish yourself as an expert in that field and become more visible to potential clients who are looking for someone with your skills.
  2. Higher rates: When you specialize in a specific area, you can often charge higher rates for your services, as you bring unique value and expertise to the table.
  3. Better client relationships: By focusing on a specific niche, you can build stronger relationships with clients and establish a reputation as a trusted expert in your field.
  4. Increased efficiency: When you focus on a specific area of expertise, you can streamline your processes and become more efficient in your work, which can help you take on more clients and increase your revenue.

To succeed as a freelance web developer, it’s important to find your niche and become an expert in that area. By focusing on a specific, narrow area of expertise, you can differentiate yourself from other freelancers, attract new business, and build a successful and fulfilling career as a freelance web developer.
